OCR cultivating a sustainable future in Kuantan

Hosts tree planting ceremony with carefully selected Eugenia and Ficus Gold trees to contribute to local biodiversity of PRIYA Project

Kuantan, Pahang, Malaysia, 21 March 2024 – Integrated property developer OCR Group Berhad (OCR, the Group) proudly reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development, recently hosting a tree planting ceremony at the PRIYA project in Penor, Kuantan.

Representatives from OCR, including management and staff members, gathered to plant Eugenia and Ficus Gold trees, carefully selected for their suitability to the local ecosystem and contribution to the biodiversity of the PRIYA project. The initiative is in line with OCR’s dedication to harmonious coexistence between urban development and the environment.

The PRIYA Project, a collaboration between the Group’s subsidiary OCR Properties (Kuantan) Sdn Bhd and Yayasan Pahang, is located in Penor, Kuantan, just 20 kilometres away from Kuantan City and 26 kilometres from Pekan. Spanning 100 acres, the development is envisioned to house a vibrant resident population of 5,000.

The PRIYA project is a testament to OCR’s commitment to affordability, offering meticulously planned residential development with a diverse array of housing options, ranging from remarkably affordable single-story terrace houses at RM125,000 to enticing semi-detached homes priced at RM160,000.

Despite pandemic-induced delays and cost increases, OCR delivered the highest standards of quality throughout the PRIYA project, reflecting its commitment as a socially responsible developer towards community well-being. The strategic planning and community-oriented design of PRIYA resulted in increased property values, with units now commanding prices exceeding RM180,000.

Affordability is at the forefront of the PRIYA project, with housing options designed to promote inclusive development and enable accessibility for a diverse range of homeowners. Completed homes in PRIYA at Penor total 1,124 units, featuring a mix of single-story terrace houses and semi-detached units. Looking ahead, OCR plans to expand the residential as well as mixed development in Kuantan.

“OCR’s commitment goes beyond environmental stewardship, reflecting our dedication to the well-being of Pahang residents. We are committed to delivering accessible and affordable housing, as well as a sense of community. The PRIYA project provides a vibrant and secure living environment where residents can thrive.”

Nestled amidst lush greenery, the PRIYA project offers a tranquil retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life. A dedicated 9-acre Centralized Green Area, meticulously landscaped to promote biodiversity and aesthetic appeal, provides residents with ample recreational space and serves as a communal hub.

The recent tree planting initiative complements previous plantings of diverse species such as Xanthostemon Chrysanthus, Plumeria Pink, Mimospo Elengi, Tabebuia Pentaphylla, and Lagerstroemia Speciosa, further enriching the PRIYA project’s environmental landscape.

OCR continues to lead the way in creating positive and lasting impacts on the communities, blending sustainability, affordability, and well-being through the PRIYA development.
